Meet Our Artist in Residence
Meet Megha Parhar!
Megha is a visual artist who creates analog collages exploring the boundaries of form, identity, perception, and the concept of being told I’m ‘free’ as it pushes up against all the ways in which she and other members of marginalized communities are unfree in a settler capitalist state. She wants to create art that is For Us, By Us, that celebrates POC & WOC. Megha holds a Master’s degree in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising and has interned for a fashion house in NYC. She is the creator of Monsoon Art by M and will be offering workshops in collaging, acrylic painting, digitalization, and ceramic pressing.
“I love art (and for the same reasons, public libraries), and its ability to bring people together, provide access to other ways of thinking/living/view points that transcend the barriers of language, class & borders, gives voice to those who feel or have been made to feel voiceless and how it empowers anyone who has a desire to create – regardless of what, how or what skill level they may have.” – Megha
