What do you remember from your prom? Your friends, the music, and likely what you wore. But prom costs can add up quickly and fairy godmothers are in short supply these days, so to help out Milton Public Library is holding a formal wear donation drive. We will be collecting formal wear during the month of April at all three of our library branches, and then on May 15 and 16 at the Sherwood Branch teens can come and pick out their perfect outfit.

We are looking for gently used: formal dresses, especially larger sizes; suits for men and women; dress shoes, flats, and heels; purses and handbags; ties; shawls and shrugs; and jewelry. Please make sure that anything donated has been cleaned and is in good repair. We cannot accept any items that are torn, stained, or damaged in any way. Please also think about if a teen would want to wear your item – we know you loved it, but will a teen love it too?

If you can’t find your dream dress somewhere else, we hope you can Find Your Formalwear @ MPL.

April 1-30: Please drop off any donations at any of the three Milton Public Library branches during open hours. Please bring them inside and drop them off at the circulation desks with staff.

Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16, from 4:00-9:00 PM at the Sherwood Branch: Participants will be welcomed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be allowed to select items as long as supplies last.
