The closest major intersection to the Main Library is Main Street East and Thompson Road. The Milton Public Library is located inside the FirstOntario Art Centre Milton.

The Main Library is 30,000 gross square feet housing a collection of books, DVDs, CDs, magazines and other materials.

This location comprises 2 floors including a passenger elevator.

Although the Milton Public Library has a long history in the community having been founded in 1855, its Main Library location has moved several times. In 1974, a prize winning new library building opened at 45 Bruce Street. In 2011, the Main Library opened in a new and larger facility within the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton at 1010 Main Street East.
