An Overview of Milton Public Library

For over 170 years, Milton Public Library (MPL) has grown alongside the community, transforming from a traditional reading room into a vibrant, inclusive hub of knowledge, creativity, and connection. With three thriving branches—Main, Beaty, and Sherwood—MPL proudly serves one of Canada’s fastest-growing and most diverse towns.

From baby storytimes to tech fairs, from seniors’ zine clubs to settlement support, MPL is more than just books—it’s a catalyst for learning, belonging, and innovation.

Our Branches:

Milton Public Library serves the community through its three vibrant branches: Main Library, located in the heart of Milton; Beaty Branch, a stand-alone branch situated in the town’s east end; and Sherwood Branch, a modern facility embedded in the Sherwood Community Centre. Each branch offers a unique blend of resources, programs, and services, ensuring accessible, inclusive, and innovative library experiences for all residents.

Partnerships in 2025

In 2025, Milton Public Library strengthened its impact through meaningful collaboration with community partners. Together, we delivered a significant share of our programs and welcomed thousands of participants, turning shared values into real action. These partnerships help us listen, respond, and grow with our community while reducing barriers and expanding access to lifelong learning, wellness, inclusion, creativity, and opportunity.
