Tuesday, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, when Canadians reflect on the effects of colonialism and the long-lasting legacies of the Canadian Residential School System on the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit populations in Canada. From age-appropriate non-fiction titles for children to in-depth and detailed memoirs from residential school survivors for adults, Milton Public Library has plenty of reading materials for patrons to reflect on Canada’s wrongs and move forward in the name of Reconciliation.
