Your challenge this summer is to complete 2400 minutes (or 40 hours) of reading from June 14 to August 22, 2025! That’s roughly 4 hours per week, or a little over half an hour per day.

Log your reading to earn badges & ballots you can use to enter into draws for tons of cool prizes. You can also earn extra ballots by participating in activity challenges! Read something new this summer, while increasing your chances of bringing home a great prize.

Kickstart your summer reading journey by coming to the Launch Party on Saturday, June 14 from 11:30-2:00 PM at the Main branch. There will be fun activities for all ages, and teens ages 13-16 can start picking up their Read and Ride stickers for their library cards. Read and Ride is a program in partnership with Milton Transit where you can show your validation sticker on your library card and ride the bus for free from June 14-August 30, 2025.

Read lots, stay buzzy, and have fun!

Getting Started with Beanstack

An individual library card is needed for each person registering.

  • Register yourself for an account. (TIP: make sure you look for Milton Public Library, Ontario. We’re the one with the bee logo)
  • Select the Teen Summer Reading Club 2025 challenge. This challenge is intended for ages 13-17 – if you’re under 13, please look for the School Age Summer Reading Club challenge instead.

Reading Badges

  • You’ll earn a badge for every 2-4 hours of reading logged…we challenge you to earn them all!
  • Each time you earn a Reading Badge, you’ll receive tickets that you can use to enter into the prize draws…reach your reading goal, and we’ll send you even more tickets!
The more you read, the more chances you have to win an awesome prize at the end of the summer. There are also small prizes to be won every week, so make sure you’re constantly participating.

Activity Badges

Want to earn extra tickets? Complete Activity Challenges by participating in some of the amazing programs we have to offer.
